Last week we had a trip down to the man cave called Dynotorque, we can’t begin to explain how much we love visiting Craig Taylor and his set up, every time we have been he has built something new, the man is a genius, and we mean genius, give him a donor vehicle, tell him what you want, along with a pot full of cash and the man will make it happen, you drive in with one machine, and drive out with another, and everything is done in-house, I think every petrol head will know all about the Driftworks DW86 V8 drift machine, and if you don't, you must of been living under a rock, well craig used his magic with the engine install side of the build, and that is the added bonus of a visit to Dynotorque, is he is right next door to the guys at Driftworks, so you get a double whammy, it’s a day out for any petrol head.

Before we tell you what our visit was about, let’s tell you about the two cars he has just finished, a Nissan 350Z, as you can see from the attached pictures, it’s an incredible LS3 install, the other a Porsche 997 C4S, which has now been added to the huge list of converted LSV8 powered conversions, Angus the owner of the Porsche actually purchased the 997 with a blown engine, and as Craig had previously built him a LS3 TVR T350 V8 with some serious power, his lust for another LSV8 engine was always going to happen, and the fact it’s the first every 997 to house the LS3 with a Turbo, we can understand the appeal, and let’s face it the V8 noise is soooo addictive.

So why were VAD at Dynotorque, our main point was to finalise the ASPECT GT BMW Z4 that we have been planning for a while now, it actually got to the point of even us thinking this build would never be completed, as we seem to of hit a few technical issues along the way.

The main problem area has been the suspension, we do not want to air bag this car, we know bags are a huge craze around the world, but for us, it has to be a static ride, all of our builds will be, and this build in particular is a priority, plus don’t want to do what the last couple of road going Z4 builds we have seen being done, which is altering the arches to sit lower to the top of the tyre, the kit will remain as BMW Motorsport built it, modifying this beauty of a kit is a definite no go.

With Craig’s talent for making things go fast, I'm happy to report, he makes them stop and handle to, brakes we will use the big red stoppers from AP Racing, with as Craig puts it, a generous sized discs, with a custom coilover setup also on the cards, we are pleased to report that headache has been sorted.

Now for the final piece of the jigsaw, and what engine is used in this build, with a huge choice, from the S65, which will be the purist choice (but it certainly isn’t our first choice) right down to the LS3, LS3 Turbo, LS7, LS9, or how about the S85 V10, all will be revealed in the coming months, but were happy its all booked in and we are ready to start building.

Every now and again we get cars come up for sale, from friends, customers and other business from around the world, unfortunately due to time and our busy schedule it’s just not possible to list them all, we are working on a self upload application that we hope to integrate into our website some time at the start of 2017, so we can help more people find their ultimate modified whip, it will take a bit of time to develop, but it’s on our list of things to do.

One car that has come up for sale over the last couple of weeks, is our good friend Julio Garcia, incredible and we mean I N C R E D I B L E Audi R8, it's done the rounds all over social media, especially Instagram, most instagramer’s will know him as AIR_R8, and for those that don’t know the man or the car, this was the very first bagged air ride Audi R8 to hit the streets stateside, so the guy has his finger well and truly on the pulse when it comes to style and fineness, from any viewing point this R8 is just sublime.

As we have got to know Julio over the past couple of years we can tell you he has spared no expense building this fine specimen of Audis finest, it’s been through 4 sets of wheels that we know of, and the air ride system install is second to none, its quality of the very highest calibre, the stance of this beauty sits is awe-inspiring.

Even though we knew about the car, it wasn’t until the first set of AG forged wheels that we really started to take notice, the directional spoke of the F433, finished in gold bullion looked absolutely on point, concave spec 2 profile centres, it was such a great look, so we were pretty surprised when Julio said he was changing them, we didn’t think the look could be improved, but we were wrong, the wheel of choice was an vast improvement in the form of the AGL24 from the AG Luxury arm of the company, we would like to think we were of some assistance in his new choice, as a few weeks previously we were the first company to have this design manufactured, for Plush Automotives very own carbon Fibre Audi RS6, the colour was also perfect for the white body R8, with brushed Grigio centres and gold bullion flange, hardware and cap.

For more details on the car and for full spec, drop us an email and we will put you in direct contact, if you are in the market for one of Audi’s finest, this is one stunning R8 that is worth taking a closer look at.

The luxury arm of AG Wheels ( Avant Garde ) have released yet another new wheel design, THE AGL34 and this time around it's been released in 1 piece Monoblock, which they have done from time to time this year, and we can see it's going to be a popular design, especially in the SUV , and Luxury vehicle market.

We love a six spoke wheel design at VAD, we have our own design that has done exceeding well over the last 18 months, and the AGL34 design is going to be a wheel in demand.

The first vehicle to test ride the design is the mighty new Range Rover Sport, and the finish shows the design off perfectly, the size fitted here is 10.5x22 front and rear and really shows the concave profile of the monoblock, the Monoblock is becoming a very popular forged choice in today’s wheel market as it has so many plus benefits, super strong, and lighter than any other forging, shedding the unsprung weight has a big advantage with any vehicle application, especially the larger vehicles, we can see this design adorning a lot of vehicles and looking right at home.

As with all AG Wheel design the AGL34 will be available in all of the usual monoblock size 19” 20” 21” 22” & 24” staggered set ups are available, with 2 piece duoblock and 3 piece configurations also being added to the line up, the 3 piece option you get the added advantage of standard or concave, with the various spec 1, spec 2 & spec 3 choices available in the concave profile, the finish choice is endless, it’s a design we are very much looking forward to seeing on a lot more vehicles in various configurations.
