It was good to be at the penultimate race of the season, at Birmingham Wheels and see Andy Hartwell in action yet again, in the very competitive Mascar series, wow they fly and there really are some great drivers in the field, its a great series and if you haven’t already been along to see these little pocket rockets in action, we can strongly suggest popping along to see, especially the final of the season when they are at the same venue as the Legends.

Saturday 22nd of October and Andy had 3 races, so we got there nice and early to set up and check the car over, and of course VAD was roped in, we were chief cook and bottle washer, pleased to say the burgers went down a treat, .. .so with the belly full, it was time to hit the first race at 5 pm.

The car looked nervous and a bit of a handful to drive, and Andy did confirm, it was pushing on the front end, but even with that problem, he had a great result and came in 3rd overall, in the second race the car looked the same, very push on the front end, what didn’t help in race two was the tank slapper moment from another car that lost control and hit Andy in the side, luckily Andy didn’t sustain too much damage and managed to get to the finish line, and after a good check over would be out for race 3.

Back at the pits, Craig from PRO24 Race shop noticed one of the coilover units had too much play, which explains the pushy front end, especially as it was on the front passenger side, an the side that was doing most of the work, so a quick swap from side to side with an easy repair for the evening and as there was the third and final race, nothing really to lose.

Starting 3rd for the final race of the evening, 25 laps of the track, within half a lap car number #5 took the lead and pulled out a 1.5 to 2 second gap, the car looked so much better, it was planted, and all was going well , that was until half way point and backmarker car 50 gave andy very little room as he over took him, he shouldn’t really of been anywhere near him, but he was and he hit #05 and spun him round, frustrating end to a brilliant start, as he was on for the win, but that as they say is racing.

So now it’s the end of the season, with just the grand final left, Birmingham wheels here we come.

AG wheels have been on a mammoth growth over the last couple of years, and we are please to be onboard with such a great company, we are extremely proud of all our brands , but unfortunately none of them give us the freedom with have with the boys at Avant Garde, with VAD looking after the European market, its a brand we are thriving with, other wheel manufacturers could learn a lot from them with the way they go about their business and treat their dealer network, they are a breath of fresh air, yes there is pressure, yes they want to sell wheels, but we work in complete harmony, which helps with the end result, selling wheels.

The Luxury arm of Avant Garde Wheels, are setting the benchmark with all the new designs that are hitting the streets, and these new designs are real beauties, the AGL31 and the AGL32, both offering something a little different to the market.

The first vehicle to be enhanced by the new AGL31 is the stunning BMW i8, and we have to say its completes the car perfectly, its such a great look on the i8, boy we love those curves.

Wheels shown on the BMW i8 are finished in brushed Grigio, in sizes 8.5x22 front and 10x22 rear the wheel has been built with the concave profile, and whats known as the spec 3 configuration, or as some know it as the floating spoke, its a great look with this colour way.

Another new wheels design thats just been launched is the AGL32, shown here in its monoblock for, so this one will be super light weight design, as with all the AG wheel designs, all designs are available in 1, piece Monoblock, 2 piece Duoblock and 3 piece forged, in concave or standard profiles, so we will be looking forward to seeing the design 32 in a concave 3 piece look, in the specification 3 configuration.

For all European enquiries on the AG Wheels and AG Luxury wheel ranges, email the team at VAD with vehicle details, along with design, finish and size information and we will be more than happy to assist with your request.

We are pleased to announce to our wide body aero programme the Audi TT 8n kit. to say we have been after this little beauty for a while is an understatement.

It’s been around for a while, but it took us a while to source and confirm the manufacturer, and our hard inspector Clueso work has paid off.

We love the MK1 (8N)Audi TT Chassis, and as we have owed a few we know all about the little Audi diamond, its most definitely the better TT option, and with this kit added into the mix, it’s even more of must have back as the daily driver.

The kit consists of, front bumper, front splitter, wider front fenders, side skirts, wider rear quarter panels, rear bumper with built in diffuser, and to finish off, a lovely little ducktail boot spoiler.

The TT attached is holding up a set Loma wheel in 19”, with a 10” front wheel and an 11” rear wheel, but as always we see room for improvement in the way of width and offset, but it’s a great base to start the wheel build from.

The aero kit is available to order, with a 3 to 4 weeks turnaround time, email the sales team for more details on how this aero kit can be ordered.
