We are big BMW fans at VAD, we have owned a few, our plans for our own Z4 has also got us up close and personal, and reacquainted with the brand, so when we were approached by Christophe Luyck regarding wheels for his BMW M235i X-Drive it got our attention, but it wasn’t until we got into the wheel build that we found out this was no ordinary M235i, nope…. This was a Manhart MH2 400 wide body, and it’s a beauty.

Although we had heard of the Manhart name for tuning the BMW marquee, we had never seen the little wide body 2 series until Christophe brought it to our attention; it really does look menacing from every viewing point, it is a wide body designed to perfection, in fact it's so good you would think it came out of the Bavarian Munich factory looking like this, huge credit to the Manhart designers, they have created an absolute beauty.

When we first saw Christophe prime example, it had been wearing a set of Stance wheels, and although they looked pretty good on the car, we both knew it could be so much better, what made the job so much easier is that the wheel design was already chosen, Christophe is a man that knows exactly what he wants, and the AGL19 from AG Luxury wheel range was his wheel of choice, now it was time to spec the wheel to the body and lock down the finish of choice.

The conversion takes a pretty wide set up, 9” to 9.5" front and 10.5” rear, even an 11 at a stretch, but Christophe has his own ideas, and as he had already run with a wider and larger set up, he didn’t like the ride quality or the fact it rubbed from time to time, especially on lock, so it was time to spec the wheels exactly how he wanted them to look, after all 3 piece forged wheels are about bespoke custom applications, widths and finish, so that’s exactly what he did.

A square set up of 9.5x19 was decided on, to be wrapped in 255/30r19 front and rear, the finish was to be matte Black centres, inner barrels, with liquid bronze stepped outer rims & hardware, with the AG spec 3 concave centre profile (floating spoke) centres, hmmm, what a recipe.

With the wheel build complete and shipped off to Belgium, AG wanted the completed project photographed, and there is only one photographer that would be given the green light to bring this car to life through his silky lense skills and that’s the amazing talent of Mike Crawat Photography… enjoy.

We are Porsche fanatics at VAD, it doesn’t matter which one as we love them all, but if we had to pick one or two as stand our personal favs, then the 997 is up there, especially when wrapped in our GT3R aero kit, with the 993 model our other personal fav, the last of the air cooled beauties, the looks and the sound are both priceless, and it’s that model in particular we want to discuss.

There is no question that one of the largest Porsche aero kings is RWB, we should know as we built one, if you know your Porsche heritage you will know the inspiration came from the GT2R race cars, you only have to look at colourful creation of DMV 993 Porsche, driven by Jurgen Schlager to see the similarities, but Nakai-san has enhanced the look even further, which has now become his signature.

We personally love the car that started our love affair with the 993, and that is the GT2R Evolution, it really is an unbelievable looking car, from any viewing point its drop dead gorgeous, and the width is incredible, and we are pleased to be able to offer this aero pack, to all 993 owners, so what do you get in the conversion kit

Front bumper, front splitter, complete wider fenders, side shirts, rear over fenders, rear bumper, rear engine cover with race wing and supports, with a huge list of options, to include flat body under floor sections, front brake channels, rear brake channels, arch liners front and rear, 18” forged 3 piece wheels 11” front and 13” rear, coilover suspension, exhaust systems, header upgrades.

We would love to build our own, and if a 993 comes up at the right time and money, we will get building, but with our BMW Z4 GT3 build along with all the other projects we have going on, there isn’t enough hours in the day.

We have said it before and we will say it again… we love what we do, we get to mix it up with some of the coolest people in the scene from all over the world, and one cool guy in particular is our buddy Bryce Jenkins.

Some of you will already know that we have a couple of favourite Rocket Bunny 350Z builds that really do hit the VAD sweet spot, as you know we aren’t really a fan of the rivet over fender scene, but the RB350Z looks so damn good, and Bryce has taken the bunny to another level, in more ways than one.

The first thing that caught our attention was the wheel build, but let’s come to that later. The first thing I want to discuss is the colour, boy oh boy did he nail that, it’s absolutely incredible to look at, we can’t stop staring at it in the office it’s that nice, we can honestly say we don’t think there is a better looking 350Z out there, black rose …. We luuuuuurve you.

Now to the wheels, we all know wheels make the car, and you can’t beat the look of a classic 5 spoke, and the AG F130 is pure win, but what we like about the Bryce factor is he didn’t follow the usual concave crowd, nope he did it his way, traditional standard profile, with huge outer rims, and the colour of the wheels is right on the money, that compliments the body colour to perfection.

So how about this for fitment … 12x19 front & 14x19 rear, he then wrapped them in “MAN” sized tyres, none of this skinny ass 255 sssssssssstreched on a 14” wheel, with silly camber un-driveable garbage, nope he did things properly, 295/30 front and 345/30 rear, Bryce doesn’t do things by halves, it’s done properly or not at all, we like that…we like that a lot.

Well now for the best bit... it’s ***FOR-SALE*** yes we know, lets repeat that … it’s for sale and it’s a bloody bargain.

The spec list is amazing, to the point of trouser arousing, especially when you look at the price he wants for the car, we know you can’t put a price, effort, commitment and time, if you could this car would be up for $100k + but what a car for the money, someone stateside is going to grab an absolute bargain, so here goes, ....tissues at the ready.
