We can honestly say we have no idea where Iby gets time to work on his projects as well as the hectic workload of working life, with the Porsche Turbo R undergoing some serious engine modifications which should see it pushing out the best part of 700bhp + with the new Turbo & ECU upgrade not to mention all of the other goodies the engine has been treated too, it should now have the huge performance to match those aggressive but stunning looks, let’s face it the 997 Turbo in factory form isn't slow by any means, so just imagine with an extra 200 + HP, this is going to be one incredibly brutal Porsche 997.

To complete the rest of the upgrades, with a fresh enhancement to the suspension being completed, with a bespoke set of Bilstein PSS10 coilovers that have been built to GT3R specification, such a fantastic addition to how this 997 will look & drive, all being well it should be sitting on the Bilstein stand at the Performance show at the NEC Birmingham in January 2019, so if you haven’t seen this car in up close and personal we strongly suggest you head to the show, it will be worth it just to see this beauty.

Not content with one project car on the go Iby also has the Datsun 280ZX and a few months back we did a blog post on the start of the build, and we are happy to report it has progressed a little further, it has sat around for a while whist the GT3R has got most of the attention, but with a slot booked in at Perfection Midlands body shop, the ZX was treated to some extremely sexy paint work.

The interior of the shell was treated to some matte black, with a nice contrasting gloss red on the roll bar, it’s a combo that looks amazing against the all new pearl white paint work which has been lavished on the external panels, and believe us when we say pictures don’t do this finish any justice.

With the Datsun painted the next job will be to treat the underside of the shell to some extra protection and then Iby can start to add the suspension set up and get the Lexus V8 Turbo engine sitting where it should be, as well as fixing the extended riveted over fenders in place, after they have had their coat of gloss black paint.

Its great seeing this build take some shape, and we will of course be sharing the build progress over the coming months, this is going to be one serious looking Datsun, with form and function.

Custom manufactured forged wheels, it seems like everyone and their dog now makes and sells a forged wheel brand, they seem to open up and close down on a monthly basis is the USA and all with one aim, to sell as many wheels as possible, there are very few wheel brands that have stood the test of time, apart from the very few, and most have poor business ethics, we could write a book on all the problems or issues we have encountered throughout the years with various manufacturers, but we are in a better place, selling and promoting our own product as well as going back to our roots selling Japanese custom bespoke forged wheels.

We have been looking for a wheel design for our own project car for the last 12 months, we have a set on the car that will be turned into door stops, wall clocks or coffee tables, as they will definitely not be used on the build, we have had so many offers from various wheel brands and some have been rather tempting, but for our build we really want something a little different to the usual designs that are a copy and paste from one brand to another.

The inspiration behind the F-1R, Formula 1 Selection of race wheels,

We are avid Formula-1 fans and have been for a long time, we also have a huge passion for bespoke wheels and they really do not get any better than the super lightweight F1 Magnesium race wheels, from O.Z Racing, BBS, Rays Engineering and Enkei have all made some stunning designs, our personal favourites are from O.Z Racing, the fact we have seen these wheels being manufactured back in the early 90's left an everlasting impression, so that is the design that we really want to pay homage to on our own build, the fact the design is a stunner is the added bonus.

For our BMW Z4 GT3 we are running 11x19 front and 13x19 rear, the decision we have to make will be whether we build a super lightweight wheel and use Magnesium or build a more conventional more affordable aluminium forged option with titanium hardware as it's a design we can make from both materials, we will also be producing in 1 piece monoblock in magnesium and aluminium forged.

We have had lots of requests over the last few months regarding our 22” wheel upgrades for the first generation Audi Q7, especially the ABT AS7 version, all of the sizes and specifications we have listed on our website, but the requests we are having of late underlines that we needed to put the info out there more.

We generally have a huge disliking for wheel spacers, but we do understand why some people use them you only have to look at some of the high quality German tuners have used them over the years and still do on certain wide body conversions they produce, that they want to sell the complete package that they have built and invested into, which makes perfect sense, they produce a wheel that will fit the stock o.e.m vehicle and then add 35 to 50 mm of spacer when they sell the wheels with their wide body conversion, its not something we would do or offer personally but we understand the reasoning behind it, but this is also why we admire companies like Hamann Motorsport and Prior Design, the companies that build the same design wheel for a stock or wide body conversion without the use of a spacer, if its a standard body they offer a standard width wheel for the application, if its the wider version they build a wider and the correct wheel width for the conversion, which is how it should be done.

10.5x22 > 295/30R22 Front & 13x22 > 335/25R22 Rear VAD VF1

The first generation Q7 has been a firm favourite at VAD and we have converted a fair few over the years as well as supplying a selection of our wheels to customers who already had the ABT Q7 fitted but were disappointed with the tuner wheel and tyre set up.

The ABT conversion for the Q7 is deceptively wide, the AS7 can be fitted with quite a substantial wheel and width, we build 10.5x22 front wheels and 13x22 rear wheels fitted with 295/30R22 & 335/25R22 tyres front and rear respectively, as well as fitting adjustable lowering links, it seems to be a conversion we are quite renown for, get in touch in you want the ultimate look for your Audi.
