The 8th & 9th of November will be a couple of days we remember quite fondly, as two builds that we have collaborated on took to the track in anger and we are pleased to say they did pretty well.

We have discussed David Haagsma on a few our our blog posts over the past few months as we have been watching his GTR come to life, Scott over at Sicchops being the man responsible for updating the look for the 2018 season fitting our aero kit and totally transforming the look, and with David's finishing touches we couldn't wait for him to hit the track and he didn't disappoint.

Considering its a new look its also a new set up, same amazing engine spec built by the GTR gurus SP Engineering, but a new JRZ suspension set up, along with new RPS Carbon brakes, and other bits of carbon aero to enhance the wider look David came 4th overall in the Super Battle class, and considering there is over 80 cars, thats pretty impressive, we are really looking forward to seeing the car back out in February 2019 next year when it competes at Circuit of the Americans ( COTA)

Another one of collaborations to hit the track which we must admit came as a bit of a surprise, albeit a nice one, the Sleepers Speed Shop Porsche 997 GT3R belonging to Chad Kobayashi, being driving at Buttonwillow by Tommy Contino, who managed a very respectable 7th in class.

We supplied the aero kit for this particular build back in January 2017, and its one we are quite fond of, the fact that we got to work with Len Higa the owner of Sleeper Speed Shop in California was a big pull for us as the company just ooze quality, and the fact that Len is so highly respected, so its always going to be a very special Porsche to us, the fact that Chad has just the very best in the way of parts on this 997 Turbo-R its the pinnacle.

We offer these aero kits for both the Nissan GTR and the Porsche 997 Chassis in various engine configurations, the 997R styling kit is only available in light weight carbon fibre, where as the Nissan GTR aero kit we manufacture in carbon fibre and also GRP, although our GRP is a woven cloth over the old school matt strand, so still a light weight and super strong product without the premium price of carbon.

Our parts for these conversions are extensive, we have our own JRZ or Bilstein suspension that is built to our own specification, big brake upgrades for the serious HP hunters as well as custom exhausts, which includes full bespoke inconel systems, wheels are another product we offer with forged aluminium, forged magnesium, with a magnesium and carbon fibre hybrid wheel also available for the customers looking for the pinnacle super light weight wheel product.

Get in touch with us if you like the look of any of these conversions for road or track use, we can supply all the parts to build as well get these cars put together, we work with a highly skilled teams that love nothing more than building these stunning creations.

For the UK market we have the Speedwells 997 Turbo-R thats under going some serious modification to not only the colour change but the power output too, so thats one to watch out for early next next, and we are also looking to get our own BMW Z4 GT3 V8 back on track, watch this space.

Unfortunately, we didn't manage to get over to the SEMA show this year, due to commitment and the fact we have had a busy few months, also trying to get our own build over the finish line, we just didn't have the time to be away on a jolly, albeit we would of loved a break in sin city, next year we will be in attendance if all goes to plan.

One car we would of liked to of seen up close and personal was the new Porsche 996 slant nose conversion from our partners Old & New Japan, but thanks to companies like The Speedhunters, builds like this are never going to be hidden away, with some stunning photography from Mark Riccioni, this is the conversion in all of its glory.

Old and New Porsche 996 Slat Nose

This particular 996 was built by Jason from Rotiform and we have to say the build looks pretty special, we have been waiting on seeing a black slant nose since the Kyza released his amazing black render of the old & new 997 version, the Gold centred Rotiform LHR wheels just suit this build to perfection, and there is no denying Rotiform are leading the way at the moment with the old school wheel designs being modernised, the perfect wheel design for this old & new conversion.

There is a lot of love for this conversion simply down to the fact you get to update the 996 front lights, they are like Marmite, they are either liked or loathed, there is no in-between, personally we love the 996 with or without the lights, but the slant nose is something pretty special to look at.

The kit is available to order now and consists of the following parts, with lots of optional extras that can be purchased with the build.

We can supply the kit as it is or we can supply and fit with our UK partners Reflex Auto Design on th fit and finish, the kits can also be supplied through RAD in Northampton.

We also offer various suspension options for this conversion, if you want a airlift set up the boys at RAD can supply and fit, we also offer a full bespoke JRZ or Bilstein coilover set up as well as fully adjustable control arms and other suspension components as well as a full hybrid exhaust system, with a choice of 3 piece forged aluminium or super lightweight forged magnesium custom manufactured wheels, so if your looking for a drive in drive out conversion then get in touch with us and lets make your dreams come true.

In the space of a couple months we have a total of four Speedwells blown out wide bodies being constructed, we have already discussed in detail Sean Reid’s beautifully prepared Porsche Slate Grey example, which is not far off being finished, its one we were desperate to photo-shoot before the weather turned, but Sean has been really busy with work and trying to get the car finished, so we may not see this stunner until the new year and winter is over, disappointing but this happens with most long term builds.

Our second build belongs to Nizam Chowdury from County Durham, we haven’t been privy to this particular build, but we are reliably informed it is going pretty well, so no doubt we will report on this build as we get more news in, its a home build so one we are always keen to show case.

Next Level Automotive Speedwells Supra Build

Our third build is our crew from the Netherlands, Next Level Automotive, these boys have just impressed us no end, as per our last blog post they pretty much fitted the kit within 4 days to perfection, the install has now been primered and will be left for 3 to 4 weeks before the guys hit the body fineness stage getting it ready for paint, thats a stage we are really looking forward to seeing.

Our fourth and final build is Thomas Larsen from Denmark who has just started to mock fit the rear end of the bumper and rear quarter panels, getting them perfected before they get bonded into position, as we have found out Thomas is a bit of a perfectionist and this build is being done at his home, so it’s going to be caressed and no doubt will be panel perfect before it heads in to the paint shop, it looks like this will be a long winter build and one we are going to follow closely as Thomas looks for the perfect fitment, as with all these types of builds panel fit and panel gap is paramount, a factor that Thomas is extremely keen to get spot on, which is a credit to how he is approaching his build, and as this is the first of its kind in the Scandinavian market, we are pleased to find some one so meticulous in their detail.

Thomas Larsen from Denmark, build in progress of his Speedwells Wide Body Supra, the first of its kind for the Scandinavian market.

We are extremely lucky to have so many builds happening at once, all striving to build the best wide body Toyota Supra, it one car that seems to be growing in popularity once again with the level of enquiries we have on the aero pack on a weekly basis.
