We love to see a GT3 styled car hit the street, most of the time we only get to see these types of vehicles on the race track, as most people that know our brand and what we do a GT3 street car is the pinnacle and we have done a few now over the past few years with our Swedish Ferrar458 GT3 way back in 2014 where it all started for us, this post however is all about this rather special Porsche 997 GT3R R13 kitted that is LS7 powered, not only does it sound incredible from the videos we have seen online, but it has the looks to match with the iconic R13 GT3R wide body.

Unfortunately, we cannot stake any claim to this amazing build that’s comes the courtesy of Chavis performance, the LS7 looks right at home in the engine bay and although the Porsche Purist would disagree, but there is no sound like the V8, especially the L3 range, maybe we are a little bias as our Z4 GT3 has the same unit and we just happen to love it.

This particular build is missing a lot of the R13 parts like the front splitter, rear diffuser, the dual canards that sit either side of the front bumper, the front and rear bumper grills, whilst the bumper outtakes have also been filled in front and rear, it has a cup rear wing assembly rather than the R13 set up which isn’t as aggressive, but that’s personal choice as, we just happen to love the R13 rear wing set up, but we offer every parts for this build including carbon doors, roof ? flat bottom under floor.

We love the 18” BBS wheel set up on this build and they need to be rather wide for this conversion with 11 or 12” front wheels and 13” or 14” rear wheels in either 18” or 19” size with widths depending on the tyres selected, we have a couple of bespoke suspension set ups for this build too.

We have a real serious 997 R13 being put together for Joe “997Turbocab” on Instagram being built by Tony at True Performance and we also have an all-new Nissan GTR GT3build that we will be featuring on our blog over the next couple of weeks that we have been heavily involved with, the future is bright, as the future has is plenty of GT3 street builds on the horizon.

Our Porsche 997 R13 carbon fibre aero conversion has become quite a popular build around the world and we have another being built in California but this will be no ordinary 997 GT3R R13 build, this will be another level build, and that’s down to the owner who is putting this particular 997 together, Joe Trinh.

We have been wanting to work with Joe since we connected with him a couple of years ago on Instagram which is just dedicated to his Porsche collection that he has built over the years, with every model being heavily modified, his 997 Turbo Cabriolet is a real beauty, as well as his 997 GT3 4.0 is one of our personal favourite 997 builds to date, its impeccably put together, then you have his McLaren 675LT which is just mind blowing, but none of them can compare to his amazing going 991 GT3R R16 he has put together as a pure road based car, it really is a phenomenal build, pure perfection and shows just what Joe and the team he works with are capable of, hence our excitement working with him on this 997 R13 GT3R build that he has just started.

We delivered the kit to Joe the early part of 2019, and he purchased every part we make all but the carbon doors and the carbon roof, but he was keen to purchase every other part we manufacture, with all the parts being delivered to Tony over at True Performance , which just happens to be company and a person we have been longing to work with, his work within the Porsche industry is renown, and we are very much looking forward following this amazing build as it happens, what we do know is every part that put into this 997 build is going to be the best available, the turbo and ECU set up is already mind blowing, the colour chosen is the perfect choice for this build, it will show off every R13 details that some colours hide, and the interior suggestion is a wonderful contrast.

all being well this amazing 997R will be hitting the streets of California, we will endeavor to keep you posted on developments as the build takes shape.

To say the speedwells Porsche 997 Turbo-R is evolving is an understatement, it’s come a very long way from its first incarnation, finished in Black with fitted with a set of 14x19 VAD CR Evolution 6 spokes, it was such a sinister looking beast and we never thought for one minute that look could be improved, but we were oh so very wrong, in its latest overhaul this is one 997 that just gets sexier every time we see it.

So what’s changed since the last shoot we did with this beauty, well quite a lot under the skin with a huge boost in power, with now over 700 + BHP to play with. On the outside apart from the colour change which we covered in an older blog post the engine cove and rear wing assembly has also been changed to a GT3 style which suits the built so much better with a larger rear wing also in preparation so it can be changed according to Iby's mood.

The rear bumper has also had a slight update with a mesh grill delete so you get to see the stainless x pipe exhaust set up, which looks so much cleaner.

So what’s next for this this impeccable build, only time will tell, but you can rest assured we will bring you any changes that happen over the up and coming hibernation period that’s due over the winter months.
