Our Magnesium wheel sales are slowly taking off thanks to clientèle that want only the very best for their road or race car, they want the pinnacle product and that for us is Magnesium.

Our magnesium range consists of 1 piece forged monoblock, or 2 piece forged barrels with Magnesium centres, the 1 piece limited to sizes and widths, so we can not accommodate every application with the 1 piece wheel, especially the bespoke builds, but the 2 piece we can build pretty much any application.

To showcase our products we will be building a set of our 2 piece for Anthony Gaylard mighty Nissan GTR that is currently under going some major aero upgrades for another assault around the green hell, the superb Nordschleife, or Nurburgring as its fondly known, with another go at the sub 7 minute lap, and this time Anthony is holding nothing back, his GTR will be wider, with a lot more features based on aerodynamics, and with the sneak peek we have had its one awesome looking machine.

Anthony's GTR has the very best of everything, its a complete beast of a car, with Alcon supplying the adjustable peddle box as well as an all new braking system, we will reveal more of those parts when the car breaks cover.

VAD Forged Magnesium 2 piece

With the new upgrades, especially the wider front and rear bodywork he needs wheels, and for Anthony only the best will do, so we will be producing our 12x19 & 13x19 2 piece forged magnesium wheels, with titanium hardware, weight should be circa 7.9kg per wheel .

So what are the benefits of forged magnesium over forged aluminium. Magnesium is the lightest metallic structural material available, its less dense than Aluminium, so Magnesium wheels can be designed to be significantly lighter than its Aluminium counterpart, so not only is it lighter is also a stronger material.

This has been one amazing build, its been a pleasure to be involved watching the transformation over the last 6 months, seeing the the vision come to fruition, not only of a road going 997 "R" but a true road looking version of the famous "r" look, it had to be a road 997 with zero hint of track car, this is the first "R" of its kind. Our previous customers builds, Sleepers Speed Shop, Speed Concepts both building road going Turbo R's, both have the look of a race car for the road, with the huge rear wing assembly and race grills, and the lack of front indicators, DRL's, flat body under floor, race wheels, likewise with our customer Scribante Racing, who built an all out track beast, which was built to compete in various GT racing around South Africa, Iby at Speedwells wanted the opposite look, he wanted a wide body Porsche 997 Turbo with the GT3R DNA, and we must say its mission accomplished.

We built a similar car back in 2013, with our Turbo RSR Gen 2 and looking back we made so many mistakes, over sized wheels, incorrect stance, wrong colour choice, and generally the wrong modifications of trying to get a race kit fitted on to a road going 997 Turbo, that inexperience showed in the build, especially when you look back and compare, this build is just another level, the comparison is chalk and cheese to our own build, Iby has made modifications to the kit, but they have all been thought about methodically, and that shows, the attention to detail is just immense, with the fit and finish as we have come to expect from a speedwell built car.

This is our first shoot of many that we will be doing with the car, its one beast we just love seeing in our camera lens.

 

It seems the clinched crew have done it again, hitting the market with yet another great conversion, this time the Dodge Challenger gets the goods.

We know there are a couple of over fender kits already on the market, but the clinch boys seem to pull off the better look with their traditional bolted on over fenders, it’s a tried and tested formula for them and they just look so good.

Clinched Dodge Challenger

As a Clinched dealer the order books are now open for business on this aero kit, with pre orders being taken up until July 15th and orders will ship out the end of August.

As per usual the kit is available in ABS plastic and mounts using all the factory location points. The fares add 2.7” inches (7cm) each side at the front and 4.7” inches (12cm) each side at the rear< the complete aero kit includes the following parts:

front fender flares, front bumper add-on elements, rear fender flares, side skirts, rear bumper add-on elements, ducktail trunk spoiler (optional), front bumper lip, this aero pack will fit all Dodge Challengers from 2008+
