Our Porsche 997 R13 carbon fibre aero conversion has become quite a popular build around the world and we have another being built in California but this will be no ordinary 997 GT3R R13 build, this will be another level build, and that’s down to the owner who is putting this particular 997 together, Joe Trinh.

We have been wanting to work with Joe since we connected with him a couple of years ago on Instagram which is just dedicated to his Porsche collection that he has built over the years, with every model being heavily modified, his 997 Turbo Cabriolet is a real beauty, as well as his 997 GT3 4.0 is one of our personal favourite 997 builds to date, its impeccably put together, then you have his McLaren 675LT which is just mind blowing, but none of them can compare to his amazing going 991 GT3R R16 he has put together as a pure road based car, it really is a phenomenal build, pure perfection and shows just what Joe and the team he works with are capable of, hence our excitement working with him on this 997 R13 GT3R build that he has just started.

We delivered the kit to Joe the early part of 2019, and he purchased every part we make all but the carbon doors and the carbon roof, but he was keen to purchase every other part we manufacture, with all the parts being delivered to Tony over at True Performance , which just happens to be company and a person we have been longing to work with, his work within the Porsche industry is renown, and we are very much looking forward following this amazing build as it happens, what we do know is every part that put into this 997 build is going to be the best available, the turbo and ECU set up is already mind blowing, the colour chosen is the perfect choice for this build, it will show off every R13 details that some colours hide, and the interior suggestion is a wonderful contrast.

all being well this amazing 997R will be hitting the streets of California, we will endeavor to keep you posted on developments as the build takes shape.

We took delivery this week of the FOM Performance forged wheels for the Speedwells project Datsun 280ZX V8 Turbo and to say are happy is an understatement, the quality is absolutely stunning and we myself and Iby are so pleased with the design, its an old school look but has all of the modern day forging technology, I really don’t think there is a better choice of wheel design for this build.

FOM have a huge selection of designs as well as making some of our own VAD wheel designs throughout 2020, the first one will be our F1 design for our Z4 GT3.

The range is available in 17” 18” 19” 20” with other sizes be added to the range in the coming months, but generally if the blank forgings are available then the sizes, widths and offsets can be produced.

As with any custom 3 piece range the sizes, widths and applications are endless, as with the finishes, so if you have a request… get in touch.

Over the last few months our BMW Z4 GT3 V8 build has really come on leaps and bounds with the kit fitted and painted, a build that should have been done two years previous but over the last couple of years thinking we were in safe hands, thinking we were working with what we though some of the industry finest, unfortunately as with any self-proclaimed “we are the best at what we do bollocks”, you kind of run with it, but as they say shit happens and you just move on, roll on 6 months later after putting all of the misery behind us, were happy to say the car is 85% finished, we still have a bit to do on the car, and its all the little details that are going to take the time, we are still waiting on the dual blade blancpain rear spoiler set up to be finished by our composite team, which is a big part of the conversion so its something we want fitted on the car when we eventually bring it out to play.

VAD BMW Z4 GT3 on the way back from paint

The plan was to get the car finished and ready for the Performance car show in January 2020 at the NEC Birmingham, but that’s not going to be possible, so we plan to get the car finished for winters end, we will head down to caffeine and Machine in Ettington, Warwickshire for a full shoot.

So whats left to do on our project BMW gt3, we still have the wheels to change along with the tyre specs, Bilstein suspension needs to be set up properly, and we need to mount the diffuser so we can finish off the exhaust, front and rear bumper grills, bonnet alienment and the rear spoiler and mounting system needs to be finished, only then will the car be ready to be shown to the world.
