A few weeks ago we blogged about our excitement regarding a build that was taking place in Japan and that build was our full carbon wide body aero kit for the Porsche Cayman 718 chassis, and we are pleased to bring you the finished build, well almost finished, Sho is just waiting on his very custom set of BBS race wheels to make their way onto the car, but for now the Advan GT wheels took pride of place.

For more details on our Cayman conversion get in touch with us, we will be happy to assist you with your own carbon wide body build.

We have said it before and we will say it again, we get to work with some incredible people all over the world and this time we are in one of our favourite countries in the world, Japan with our good friend Sho Kobayashi from Kanagawa and it’s a build we have wanted to do in Japan for so long as we know how well received the Porsche brand is in the Japanese scene, you only have to look at RWB to see the following this company has with their Porsche creations.

It was October 2020 when Sho reached out about our carbon wide body aero kit for his race going Cayman and with a few emails exchanged it wasn’t long before one was being manufactured, boxed up and shipped out for Sho to start working his magic.

It was only when we got to see the latest images that we had a small heart failure, as Sho had ordered our 981 Cayman wide body aero package, but was fitting it to his all new Cayman 718 4-cylinder new shape beauty, after checking he confirmed that we did in fact order the kit knowing and that alterations would need to be made around the front and rear lights, and we are very pleased to confirm the modifications are minimal, so we will now be offering this aero kit for the all-new 718 chassis with modifications of course.

Well it seems the car is not far away from being completed and we will soon get to show the world his new show stopper as he is going racing with no other than RWB’s Nakai-San who will be in his all new 997 Turbo race car “Notting Hill” so very much one to watch out for and we will bring you all the updates to this show stopping build.

Just as we were finishing up this blog post we had a chat with a good friend who we have collaborated with before and he has just ordered his kit for a winter build, so we don’t just have one epic Porsche Cayman build happening we have two beauties to look forward two.

We love to see a GT3 styled car hit the street, most of the time we only get to see these types of vehicles on the race track, as most people that know our brand and what we do a GT3 street car is the pinnacle and we have done a few now over the past few years with our Swedish Ferrar458 GT3 way back in 2014 where it all started for us, this post however is all about this rather special Porsche 997 GT3R R13 kitted that is LS7 powered, not only does it sound incredible from the videos we have seen online, but it has the looks to match with the iconic R13 GT3R wide body.

ree

Unfortunately, we cannot stake any claim to this amazing build that’s comes the courtesy of Chavis performance, the LS7 looks right at home in the engine bay and although the Porsche Purist would disagree, but there is no sound like the V8, especially the L3 range, maybe we are a little bias as our Z4 GT3 has the same unit and we just happen to love it.

This particular build is missing a lot of the R13 parts like the front splitter, rear diffuser, the dual canards that sit either side of the front bumper, the front and rear bumper grills, whilst the bumper outtakes have also been filled in front and rear, it has a cup rear wing assembly rather than the R13 set up which isn’t as aggressive, but that’s personal choice as, we just happen to love the R13 rear wing set up, but we offer every parts for this build including carbon doors, roof ? flat bottom under floor.

We love the 18” BBS wheel set up on this build and they need to be rather wide for this conversion with 11 or 12” front wheels and 13” or 14” rear wheels in either 18” or 19” size with widths depending on the tyres selected, we have a couple of bespoke suspension set ups for this build too.

ree

We have a real serious 997 R13 being put together for Joe “997Turbocab” on Instagram being built by Tony at True Performance and we also have an all-new Nissan GTR GT3build that we will be featuring on our blog over the next couple of weeks that we have been heavily involved with, the future is bright, as the future has is plenty of GT3 street builds on the horizon.
