By popular demand we have decided to finally release our Nissan GTR Widebody programme in FRP, it seems our carbon option is beyond most GTR owners budget, considering the wide body purchase is just the start, you then have to fit and paint colour of choice, along with suspension system.

With the final piece of the conversion being the wheel and tyre set up, with huge 13” widths in either 20” or 21” size, fitted with 35 or 345 section width tyres, so it all totals up to be quite a costly conversion,

but with the launch of the FRP programme, it becomes a more affordable package, with builds now happening globally.

So what do you get for your money, the panels will consist of: front bumper, front splitter, front wider replacement fenders, side skirts, rear wider quarter panels, rear bumper panel.

Hit up our sales team with any information required, they will be more than happy to discuss any requirements you may have.

We have been discussing the prospect of a GT3 road going GTR for a while now, but as most ofyou that read our blog will know, we hit a few problems, some of which are still ongoing, so we shelve the idea, as it wasn’t worth the hassle or aggravation, as well as the cost of lost funds in the process, which we are still fighting to get back through the legal channels, but lets cover that in another blog post, as this post is all about a build we have longed to do and be involved with, and we are happy to say it’s all systems go.

We have said it before and we will say it again, the GTR in GT3 form is the pinnacle wide body, everything else for us falls short, even our own VADZILLA, this for us is the Numero Uno, the ultimate GTR in wide body form, and were excited.

Amber Performance Seibon GTR

After returning from our German trip it was time to assess the situation with our business associates Amber Performance, as the proprietor Jason Hawes 2009 award winning Seibon GTR has been sitting at the LA Paints body shop in Milton Keynes for over 12 months waiting for the new GT3 body panels which didn’t arrive and won't be any time soon, so plan B was put into operation which was to fit Jason's GTR with the VAD carbon wide body programme, so with that organised it was time to spec the wheel build with design and required finish, we already knew the build would run a 21” set up, as the 345/25R21 have been sitting around gathering dust for the last 7 months at Amber HQ.

Scouring the net for a few race wheel ideas, we stumbled across an eBay posting for a used GTR GT3 race kit, with a bit of negotiation, Jason was able to secure the kit, with every part needed to complete the build, the parts were originally purchased for a time attack GTR build, which we are happy to say didn’t materialise, which has made our year, we can tell you that Jason & Lee havent stopped grinning.

The car has already had the engine removed a while ago for a serious upgrade in the power department, so LA paints gave the engine bay its first few coats of paint, the colour we will reveal at the time of launch, it will certainly get people talking, so it will be left in the capable hands of Lee Ayre of LA Paints, who is in control of bringing this beast to life.

Now to the wheels of choice, with the original planned build hitting problems, the original idea of fitting the VAD CR-Evo has changed, simply because it’s become a quite popular design of wheel and this build demands something new and fresh, and with the all new Trafficstar forged range going into production, the 5 spoke STR in concave profile is the design that Jason has decided on, with matte black centres, gloss black outer rims and inner barrel, with copper hardware, in size 13x21, we also looked at the the OZ race wheel design, but the Trafficstar brand just made more sense.

We will keep the blog updated along with our Instagram and Facebook page, so keep an eye out for pictures in build, cant wait for launch day .

We can't quite believe its been three and a half years since our blog post about David Huang's awesome Top Secret G Force wide body 996 Turbo, as its our favourite 996 to date, we thought it would be fitting to repost on our new blog for our all new website, have a read if you havent already done so, as this is one awe-inspiring Porsche.

We are real car enthusiast at VAD, it’s not just a job it's a passion, our way of life, we totally live it in every way, building cars, wheels, Interiors, there is never a true statement that defines VAD as a company ... built not bought.

Every now and again a car comes along on the VAD radar and really grabs our attention we then have to find out more, this happened to me in particular when I first clapped eyes on a little picture of David Huang’s wide body Porsche 996, it just blew me away and off I went in search of more details of this epic looking 996 Wide body.

We knew all about the Top Secret G force super wide body when it was first launched but its so rare, from memory Bullet Proof Automotive were the first company we knew of that had blogged about the conversion when it was launched and brought it to the public eye especially stateside, at the time we liked it but it didnt blow us away, maybe it was the colour or even at that time the wheel choice Top Secret used, now don’t get me wrong the TE37 is a timeless classic when it comes to wheel design, the quality of the rays wheels is breath taking we are huge fans, but not for a porsche 996 for us it just didnt look right.

Now fast forward to 2012 when I came across David’s prime “A” class example of how this conversion should look with a fantastic choice of colour, what an absolute piece of car art, we would be proud to call this conversion our own, the vision the quality of work and the parts used are a credit to the owner hence the reason we got in touch as I just wanted and had to know more about this build and I wasn’t disappointed, the spec list that David sent me is rather awe inspiring... just take a look at the at the quality surrounding this car, now we suggest you brace yourself for pinnacle parts heaven.

Its build like this that need to be shouted about, David has taken a very rare high quality Japanese wide body aero kit and applied it in such away it looks factory, the detail, fit and finish are just sublime, the 996 has always had mixed reviews around the globe it’s the 911 that a lot of Porsche fans and purists were split over, it was a like or loathe, personally we love it but in this disguise we love it even more, David you should feel proud to have built such an incredible looking radical Porsche 996 with more than enough power to match the beautiful looks, a car VAD would be more than happy cruising the streets in.

Last we would like to thank 1013mm for the superb photography skills ... such beautiful shots that have really captured the quality and presentation of this build, Enjoy the car David we know we would.
