Even with the launch of our Gen 3 Mini flares the Gen 2 keep on growing with more cars globally getting the VAD mini treatment, which is a great feeling having all of the global Mini builds tag us as they take shape.

One particular R56 that was in the planning stage and got us really excited was Emily Bakers Cooper S JCW, the colour caught our attention straight away Kite blue, along with Emily's enthusiasm, just seemed to be the perfect owner & car to showcase our product, and she has wasted no time at all hitting the show scene already displaying the build at numerous shows around the UK.

Collection day for Emily Baker's R56 Cooper S wide flared beauty

Emily certainly did her homework, traveling down to our Birmingham fitting centre Dentcraft to check out the flares up close and personal, which she got to do by seeing not one but two R56 Minis that belong to Dave the owner of Dentcraft Birmingham, they were an instant hit and Emily booked her stunner in for surgery.

We kept in contact with Emily whilst she waited patiently for the work to be carried out, getting sneak peaks of her wheel choice and all the plans she had for the car and we must say on collection day the finished results blew us all away, the colour the wheel choice, everything just works in harmony, such a credit to her, the vison she had imprinted was right on the money, we don’t think there is a better colour choice of wheel or design that would suit this build any better, the Rota kyusha, measuring 9x17 with +15 offset for the front & +8 offset for the rear wrapped in 245/40R17 Avon tyres just fill every ounce of space the new wider flares have created, with the Gunmetal centres and gloss back lips look right at home against the Kite Blue Bayswater limited edition paintwork.

We don’t know what is next for Emily’s little beauty, but what we do know is we are on board for the long haul, we hope she spams us forever with this one and as she has her own personal photographer on hand in the form of Boyfriend Matt, owner of Matt Andrews Photography we seem to think the pictures will not be slow coming through.

One of our favourite builds has always been Geoff Clements of Clements racing, his amazing Pepper pot white JCW, it has all the bells and whistles and its having even more engine performance related goodies added, we were so pleased when Geoff chose to wear our brand of flare to such an incredible Mini, especially with the way it looks, and now with Emily joining the VAD family made us really excited that yet another incredible looking Mini wanted to wear our brand, sorry Geoff your beauty was Numero- uno for a while, but Emily’s little stunner is sharing the honours of the best UK VAD clad Mini, roll on the photography spam.

hey do say better late than never, as well as our own saying that perfection takes time and these Gen 3 Mini flares most definitely fall in to that category and boy oh boy have they been worth the wait time.

Due to the huge success of our Gen 2 flares it was only a matter of time that we would launch a flare set for the Generation 3 chassis and with looking what is on the market we are extremely glad we did, with our signature look now ready for all the F56 & F57 Gen 3 chassis.

The great thing about the Gen 3 is there is no cutting of the OEM metalwork like there is on the Gen 2 chassis, if the conversion is done sensibly like our own demo Cooper D Hatch, the new flares have to be bonded on as you can get behind the fixing points like you can with the Gen 2, so it’s a simple case of bonding and clamping each flare.

We fitted H&R 35mm lowering springs with some 9.5x18 3SDM wheels, wrapped in 245/35R18 & 255/35R18 Nankang tyres and all we had to do was roll the rear metal work slightly so there is no scrub on the 255 rear tyres and the overall finished look is pretty stunning, this look will just never get old, and just gives the new Gen 3 the look it needs.

For the customers looking to track and get the most out of the wheel fitment with these flares, you can fit up to a 9.5” wheel with a +10 offset for the front and a 10x18 wheel with a +10 on the rear with 245/35 & 265/35 tyres front and rear to suit, It’s amazing how these wider flares transfer the look of your basic Gen 3 Mini.

Next up we plan on tooling up for the Mini R60 Countryman and the R61 Paceman, as these doesn’t seem to be anything available for these 2 Mini Chassis, we plan on changing that.

This has been a long time coming but as they say perfection does take time and the finished product is pretty spectaular, it so different to any other spoiler available on the market and really suits the Supra oem lines as well as the Speedwells wide body, Iby certainly got the design process on point, its very well thought out and looks oem which is why we like this so much, less is more with this spoiler.

The design process on this spoiler goes back a few years in fact the concept first made its way onto Iby’s own Black Toyota Supra wide body back at the end of 2016, but at the time it needed a little bit of titivation to create the final production version and it was only recently during lockdown that the mould and the mock-up part was given the time needed to complete and get it ready for production and we are happy to confirm the part is finally here and ready to order.

Apart from the incredible looks, this exclusive ducktail boot spoiler uses the original Toyota Supra oem fixing points, so no need for any extra drilling, the part just needs to be painted to suit and fitted as you would the original supra rear wing.
