Porsche 997 "R" Updates, and new aero for the 991 Chassis

Over the Christmas period the boys over at Speedwells have put in an extraordinary shift, whilst most people were off enjoying the rest over the festive period, Iby the owner of speedwell refinishers was in graft mode, and in that short space of time has almost completed the Porsche 997 “R” wide body make over.

What it would take most people a good few weeks to put together has taken Iby two, you might be thinking that in that short space of time the quality wouldn't be as good and would suffer, but you would be wrong, the build quality and attention to detail is the same usual mind blowing quality we personally have come to expect from Iby at Speedwells, like the OEM Turbo site air vents that have been grafted into the new super wide carbon quarter panel, modifying the front fender air vent for the all new alloy fuel cap, its details like this that make this his finest work to date.

The paint skills have been taken care of by Taj at Perfections Midlands Limited and we can tell you Basalt black has never looked so good, he’s done a pretty amazing job painting all the carbon fibre GT3R panels, as well as giving the 997 Turbo’s other panels a freshen up, the guys got skills.

There is still lots of little details to finish, like the rear bumper paint and install as its needed a little modification, along with the fitting of the front and rear bumper grills, upgrades to the front and rear lights as well as a fresh set of indicator driving lights to be installed, and also the 3 piece forged wheels have yet to arrive and be wrapped in the super wide Michelin rubber.

knowing Iby as we do, this car will evolve, as he will always be fettling around with it, because that’s how you perfect a build.

Another great addition to our Porsche line up is the “R” carbon programme for the 991 chassis, its been a while coming but we are pleased to announce its now available, as per the 997 model, all of the same parts apply and we will have a basic package with lots of additional optional extras.

Basic kit will consist of: Front bumper, front floor, front splitter, front fenders, side rockers, rear quarter panels, rear bumper, rear diffuser, rear wing assembly rear engine cover and front vented bonnet.

We also have a huge range of forged wheels available in a range of sizes, 11” fronts and 13” rear, with our all new super lightweight Forged Magnesium also available for this conversion, email the team for details on this upgrade or any of any aero conversions.

BMW E46 M3 WIDE BODY GTR V10

2017 has been a fantastic year for us at VAD with our aero kit and wheels being delivered all over the globe, and 2018 is looking rather hectic, with our own BMW Z4 GT3 V8 to be finished, our collaboration of the very first Porsche 997 GT3R Bi-Turbo build with Iby at Speedwells, and our collaboration with the boys over at Reflex Auto Design with Europe’s first ever Old & New slant nose conversion for the 997, along with a couple of our Nissan GTR carbon wide body conversions heading to the states.

Unfortunately, we cannot manufacture every aero kit, it’s just not feasible to do everything and plus we really enjoy working with other quality manufactures from around the world, and our network of friends has expanded at a vast rate over the last few years.

2M Autowerks is a company we have known about for some time and we will be working closer with them in 2018, we already display their awesome wide body F80 aero pack on our website, and it’s a conversion we are really looking forward to building next year. Another build the 2M boys are working on that has really caught our attention is their BMW E46 M3 V10, and as mind blowing as that sounds, it doesn't end there either. They have built a full replica GTR wide body aero kit, so it will look as good as it sounds, with plenty of go, all being done in-house, and from what we have seen so far, this is one amazing build, we will report more as and when we get updated.

It well worth following the guys on Instagram & Facebook for updates on their builds, they are an incredibly talented bunch with amazing skill set and such a pleasure for us to collaborate with, whilst promoting their products for the European market.

BMW F80 Wide Body, Class act from 2M Autowerks

With all the riveted over fender being fitted around the world at the moment, it’s a refreshing change to see a wide body aero kit hit the market without a single rivet insight, which is exactly what the guys at 2M Autowerks have done with their amazing new GT3 wide body kit for the BMW F80 /F30 chassis, and it’s one pretty epic looking conversion.

Apart from the odd conversion like the Porsche 911 we personally aren't keen on the riveted over fender look, not because it’s been done to death, more the fact that it really doesn't suit every vehicle, over the last two years the market has been saturated, with more vehicles being added a what seems a weekly basis, I guess its each to their own, we just prefer the 2M route of a none riveted look, it might be a more difficult and more expensive process, but the overall look is so much more pleasing to the eye.

The kit has been out for a while, the first one being built for Steve Samuel or as most will know him on Instagram Soofy619, and for those of you who don’t know the car or the man, head over and take a look at his breath taking ride, the boys at 2M Autowerks really have set the bar extremely high with this conversion, and we are very happy to be working with getting this kit to the UK / European market.

The aero kit consists of the following parts: Front bumper, front splitter, front wider fenders, side rockers, rear fenders, rear bumper, with the rear wing and assembly also available as an option extra

As with all wide body conversions, you need a wide wheel and tyre set up, and this beauty is no different with a huge range of 2 or 3 piece forged wheels available in 19” or 20” sizes, and you will need 10” front wheels with 13.5” rear wheel set up and tyres to suit.
