We are always striving for better products at VAD and whilst we are happy with everything we promote and sell, the search for the perfect product is always ongoing.

Midway through 2017 we had a request for carbon fibre wheels from a good friend, the same friend has now taken delivery of his hybrid forged magnesium and carbon fibre monoblock wheel for his incredible AMG Mercedes Benz C Class coupe, the awesome the Edition 1, and to make it even more special it’s the motorsport example, it really is a very rare model, and the focus has been to make the wheels as light as possible and at 7.5 KG I think we have achieved our goal, but we will discuss this wheel and vehicle in minute detail when the wheels are fitted to the intended vehicle.

With the forged magnesium monoblock you have limited fitments, mainly because the widths of the blank forgings are very limited, so we can’t do every vehicle we want with a monoblock set up, for example we couldn't do the Lamborghini Aventador with the 9x20 front and 13x21 rear, because the rear forging isn't available, so we have been looking for another light weight wheel that we can work with that would cover more applications.

There are carbon fibre wheels on the market, but unfortunately the ones we have seen just do not float our boat, basically speaking the wheels are ugly, and for us the product has to look ascetically pleasing to the eye, as well as form & function, and yes we do want our cake and eat it, wheels maketh the car, and it’s no different with a carbon fibre wheel, let’s face it for the cost of these wheels alone…they need to be beautiful to look at.

Well now for the best bit as we now have the best of all worlds, for the applications we can’t do with a 1 piece monoblock, we can now do with our 2-piece carbon fibre and forged magnesium wheels. these wheels have a carbon fibre one-piece barrel, the centre is forged magnesium that is bolted to the carbon flange, with exposed or hidden titanium hardware, we have many applications, widths with any design catered for, be it a 5 spoke, mutispoke, or a design you have created yourself.

So for those customers that strive to want the pinnacle alloy wheel product, we now have every exotic material you could possible wish for.

We have our full carbon fibre forged composite 3-piece wheel, our hybrid forged magnesium and carbon fibre monoblock wheel, and now our 2-piece carbon barrelled, forged magnesium 2 piece.

Sizes and widths for the all-new 2-piece hybrid carbon / magnesium wheels are as follows.

19” barrel sizes: 8.75 > 10” > 11” > 12” // 20” Barrel sizes: 9” > 10” > 11” > 12”

21” Barrel sizes: 9.5” > 10” > 12.5” // 22” Barrel sizes: 10” > 12”

We don’t think the Clinched flares company needs much of an introduction, especially if your into modifying your pride and joy, we would think you would of come across a car of some description with a set of their flares bolted on, and there are a few that have really caught the eye.

We have followed their work for a while, admiring some of the builds their flares have ended up, for such a simple modification they make cars look good, and with a wider wheel and tyre set up gives a stock cars a more muscular look and stance, and that’s a good thing in our eyes as we just love to modify, we just don’t do standard.

The last couple of years they have added wide body conversions into the mix, with the Mitsubishi Evolution, BMW E82, E92, Lexus IS250, to name a few with the most recent and for us the best addition for the all new Ford Mustang, which is an absolutely stunner and definitely the best looking wide body kit on the market for the new model Mustang.

The Mustang kit is a real wide look and really does convert to the radical, with its front and rear over fender that bolt onto the original set up with, with bumper corners, side sills, front splitter and ducktail finishing off the aggressive look, with 11.5” front wheels and a gigantic 13.5” rear wheels fitted with 315 & 345 tyres front and rear respectively.

All of their products are manufactured from ABS plastic, so the quality is spot on, for the Mustang conversion for those that want it you can request carbon fibre.

With the Universal flares they have 6 different designs all with various widths, from 3 cm right the way up to 15 cm, so they have a flare for every vehicle, in every size, with also the choice to mix and match.

As well as selling and promoting the Clinched brand across our own network, it’s a reciprocal business deal that means the Clinched crew will be selling and promoting the VAD wide body aero programmes across the Russian market, so we are very much looking forward working with them and watching our combined network blossom.

We have been talking about doing something for the Jaguar F type for a while now, and we are hopefully looking to get started during the course of this year, and what we do know is it will be wide body GT3 style. We will be working with a well know render specialist over the next couple of months, but that hasn't stopped us playing around with some ideas.

The rear of the car is already a stunner, apart from wider rear quarters and bumper, it needs a more aggressive diffuser that works as well as just looks pretty, so at the moment we will concentrate on the front view for now with some ideas we want in the design.

JAGUAR F TYPE-R WIDE BODY

Our render is based on the “R” AWD chassis, as we feel it’s a pretty front end view over the SVR, we could look a redesign, but why fix, if it’s not broken, so we will just recreate all of the Lovely Jaguar O.E.M parts in carbon fibre, which will fit all of the F Type models, cabriolet or coupe.

The new look front end will be manufactured in carbon fibre and consist of front bumper, front splitter, front wider vented fenders, an aggressively style vented bonnet, side skirts with rear brake cooling channels, wider rear quarter panels, rear bumper, rear diffuser, possible option of a rear wing or ducktail spoiler, not too sure on that part, exhaust, tuning, suspension will also be available, and we will be working with good partners on this car from design right the way through to the suspension, body specialists and composite manufacturers.

Wheels there will be a choice of design and size, our preferred size and widths will be 10.5x21 front and 13x21 rear fitted with 275/30r21 & 355/25R21 front and rear respectively, but 20” can be the desired size if required. For tuning we are looking at various companies to work with, for the UK fitting it will be our Partners Reflex Auto Design, stay tuned for more news on this aero pack during the course of the year, which can be accelerated for the right car and client.
