With any kit especially a wide body the first thing you really want to do is trial fit, and believe us the excitement is real, so with the air ride all sorted it was dress up time.

The RAD boys had already said how impressed they were at the quality of the kit, and as we said in our last post they were extremely pleased, and even more so with the fit of the kit, the quality is exceptional, which we already knew, as we had seen it previously up close and personal some twelve months previously, which is why its on our website and associated with our brand name, but we understand why they were a little concerned as these boys fit kits on a regular basis, so they know what is involved in building a top level show car, which is what this car will become for the Reflex brand.

OLD & NEW Japan, Porsche 997 Slant Nose

With the test fit done and the boys well happy it was exhaust time, and that was entrusted to EMP Performance. If you recall, we showed the cut out on the OLD & new rear bumper that had been done for the exposed exhaust look, so it was a case of no going back, any although it wouldn't of been our personal choice, we do like that racer look for the rear, its radically different to any other slant nose that has been put together so far, so kudos for thinking outside the box with their ideas.

We know what the finished car will look like in the way of paint scheme and graphics, so this merely adds to the look they are aiming at, with the exhaust complete, wheels delivered and caressed with Toyo Tyres, its now time for graft, with the kit fitting and bodywork prep, lets hope its ready for Ultimate dubs show in April, and lets hope ultimate dubs is ready for this.

 

The start of January saw the OLD & NEW aero kit for the Reflex 997 arrive from Japan, and we must say its a really is exceptional quality, not that we expected any different as we have seen the kit up close and personal when we were at the Tokyo Auto Salon in 2017, so we knew what we were signing up for then, but its always nice to see the product land in the UK without a hitch and all parts enclosed, and the guys at Reflex were all like kids at Christmas.

The first job on the huge list of upgrades was the Air suspension, Matt Clifford works with Air Lift Performance on the photography side of things, so it was inevitable that Matt would hook this ride up on air, and we believe this is the first Porsche 997 to be fitted with all Air Lift Performance products, so its not just a first of its kind slant nose 997 for Europe, but lots of other parts are a first time too it would seem, which all adds up to a really unique build.

With the suspension complete it was time for Johnny and Matt to get the rear bumper modified for the all new exhaust that is being constructed, they are stepping outside the usual and adding not only a touch of class, but also their own take on how they want this build to look, and it takes balls to cut up a brand new £14k aero kit that you have just taken delivery on, but as we said they know exactly what they want for this build.

It’s been the weekend of the Osaka Auto Messe in Japan, and the old & new crew have display yet another show stopper, built by AP Garage in Japan and what an amazing Job they have done, its come out looking amazing, it really is a beauty.

Porsche 996 Slant Nose

This time they have built the slant nose for the 996 model in turbo form, and this is the Version 1 of the aero pack that will keep the rear Turbo bumper and a race style GT rear wing set up, we think this version will be a very popular one, as its more of a take on the over fender, slant nose look of the older generation Porsche 930 models, and we know some Porsche fans will be thinking, great as it gets rid of the 996 front headlights, they are like marmite, you either like that front end look of the 996 or loathe it, to be honest we like the OEM 996 front, but we very much prefer this slant nose look, who wouldnt.

The colour and wheel choice is also a different take from the last 997 build, and this is very much reminiscent of the old turbo fan style and for us this is the best wheel choice so far, in fact its giving us some ideas for our own slant nose build.
