With all the riveted over fender being fitted around the world at the moment, it’s a refreshing change to see a wide body aero kit hit the market without a single rivet insight, which is exactly what the guys at 2M Autowerks have done with their amazing new GT3 wide body kit for the BMW F80 /F30 chassis, and it’s one pretty epic looking conversion.

BMW F80 M3 Wide Body

Apart from the odd conversion like the Porsche 911 we personally aren't keen on the riveted over fender look, not because it’s been done to death, more the fact that it really doesn't suit every vehicle, over the last two years the market has been saturated, with more vehicles being added a what seems a weekly basis, I guess its each to their own, we just prefer the 2M route of a none riveted look, it might be a more difficult and more expensive process, but the overall look is so much more pleasing to the eye.

The kit has been out for a while, the first one being built for Steve Samuel or as most will know him on Instagram Soofy619, and for those of you who don’t know the car or the man, head over and take a look at his breath taking ride, the boys at 2M Autowerks really have set the bar extremely high with this conversion, and we are very happy to be working with getting this kit to the UK / European market.

The aero kit consists of the following parts: Front bumper, front splitter, front wider fenders, side rockers, rear fenders, rear bumper, with the rear wing and assembly also available as an option extra

BMW F80 M3 Wide Body

As with all wide body conversions, you need a wide wheel and tyre set up, and this beauty is no different with a huge range of 2 or 3 piece forged wheels available in 19” or 20” sizes, and you will need 10” front wheels with 13.5” rear wheel set up and tyres to suit.

For more details on this classy conversion, get in touch with us and we will more than happily discuss your individual requirements.

The VAD BMW Z4 (E89) has finally finished its first round of modifications with the completion of our crate LS3 6.3LTR V8 engine installation, coilover suspension, brake and exhaust upgrade and we must say its turned out looking pretty immense, Craig at Dynotorque has done a pretty spectacular job, the engine install looks like it came out of the factory with this engine in place it’s that neat and tidy, it looks at home with plenty of room over the original 2.5Ltr N52B25 engine, it sits much further back with better weight distribution, with the added fact it’s a much lighter unit, we can’t just wait to hit the street in this beast, it’s going to be a pretty radical looking machine out on the open roads.

BMW Z4 GT3 V8 LS3

For the next stage we will be making a few suspension adjustments and will be modifying the inner fenders especially at the rear to accommodate the much larger wheel and tyre fitment, so the 13x19 and 345/30 tyres will fit as they should without any rubbing under load, It’s a necessary mod for any modified car that is having a wide body install, then it will be off to Emerald for the final map and Can-Bus setup, and then she will be ready to head off down to our composite partners BAMD for the Aspect GT carbon body GT3 install, Adam can’t wait to get his hands on this beast, and we can’t wait for him to give this build his magic touch.

Its taken us two years to research exactly what was required, along with the final spec of what we wanted, we did consider the S65 BMW V8, but after a conversation with Craig who explained the pitfalls of going that route, but how simple the LS3 conversion as well as the cost implications, it seemed like a no brainer, our vision and dream of building the ultimate road going Z4 is almost complete, and although we will upset some purists out there, we just remind ourselves, we have built this car for us, and we are happy with the route we have taken with this build.

We will be blogging when the car is down at BAMD, so be sure to bookmark us and follow the progress as it happens.

First start up of the VAD BMW Z4 GT3 V8 LS3

It has been a while for our Z4 V8 build to come together, it seems so long ago since we put it out there to the world that we were going to build our own version on the BMW Z4 GT3 bat mobile, but with internal issues within the company at the end of 2014 and a pretty hectic schedule ever since, along with moving premises the time just hasn’t been right, but we decided at the end of 2016 to pull our finger out and put our own build to the front of the queue, the added bonus was our friends over at Dynotorque finally getting their own huge workload out the door, so this was our moment, and our Z4 Emerald over the festive period and into the new year, it wasn’t until the end of February until we were able to take up residence on the main Dynotorque ramp, so the work could commence with surgery of the engine, suspension and brake set up.

The iDrive system of the Z4 caused a few issues with the emerald boys, but nothing they couldn’t handle, it was just a very time consuming process and as they are a methodical bunch, it took a little longer than expected, but we were in no rush… it gets done when it gets done, but a little reminder that it’s not just the engine install you have to consider when building a car like this, but a whole host of other areas that will need attention.

Standard BMW Z4 (N52B25) Engine

Craig has wasted little time in removing the stock 2.5ltr engine, just before this happened a photo was taken of the stock N52B25 engine in situ, with this removed and a dummy LS3 fitted so fabrication of the engine and gearbox mounts could be set into place, and as the photo shows, there is so much more room for the 6.3ltr LS3 V8 to live and breathe, than there is with the original 2.5ltr (N52B25)

More updates will follow as we progress through the build, we just need to contain our excitement first.
