This has been a long time coming but as they say perfection does take time and the finished product is pretty spectaular, it so different to any other spoiler available on the market and really suits the Supra oem lines as well as the Speedwells wide body, Iby certainly got the design process on point, its very well thought out and looks oem which is why we like this so much, less is more with this spoiler.

The design process on this spoiler goes back a few years in fact the concept first made its way onto Iby’s own Black Toyota Supra wide body back at the end of 2016, but at the time it needed a little bit of titivation to create the final production version and it was only recently during lockdown that the mould and the mock-up part was given the time needed to complete and get it ready for production and we are happy to confirm the part is finally here and ready to order.

Apart from the incredible looks, this exclusive ducktail boot spoiler uses the original Toyota Supra oem fixing points, so no need for any extra drilling, the part just needs to be painted to suit and fitted as you would the original supra rear wing.

Our Porsche 997 R13 carbon fibre aero conversion has become quite a popular build around the world and we have another being built in California but this will be no ordinary 997 GT3R R13 build, this will be another level build, and that’s down to the owner who is putting this particular 997 together, Joe Trinh.

We have been wanting to work with Joe since we connected with him a couple of years ago on Instagram which is just dedicated to his Porsche collection that he has built over the years, with every model being heavily modified, his 997 Turbo Cabriolet is a real beauty, as well as his 997 GT3 4.0 is one of our personal favourite 997 builds to date, its impeccably put together, then you have his McLaren 675LT which is just mind blowing, but none of them can compare to his amazing going 991 GT3R R16 he has put together as a pure road based car, it really is a phenomenal build, pure perfection and shows just what Joe and the team he works with are capable of, hence our excitement working with him on this 997 R13 GT3R build that he has just started.

We delivered the kit to Joe the early part of 2019, and he purchased every part we make all but the carbon doors and the carbon roof, but he was keen to purchase every other part we manufacture, with all the parts being delivered to Tony over at True Performance , which just happens to be company and a person we have been longing to work with, his work within the Porsche industry is renown, and we are very much looking forward following this amazing build as it happens, what we do know is every part that put into this 997 build is going to be the best available, the turbo and ECU set up is already mind blowing, the colour chosen is the perfect choice for this build, it will show off every R13 details that some colours hide, and the interior suggestion is a wonderful contrast.

all being well this amazing 997R will be hitting the streets of California, we will endeavor to keep you posted on developments as the build takes shape.

There are a few alloy wheel refurbishing companies in and around the Birmingham area, some good (ish), some not so good and some not even worth a mention, it’s a classic case of you get what you pay for in this particular field, we personally as a company recommend and use Speedwells Refinishers based Speedwell Road Birmingham, some of their competition state VAD only showing Speedwell loyalty because of our business links and the fact the two owners are good friends and although that is true VAD as a brand only work with the very best in their field, so if we are working closely with a company you can rest assured they are the best at what they do and Speedwells are no different to any other company we are associated with, quality means everything to our brand, and Speedwells share the same business ethics and values, if they didn't we wouldn't work with them.

Now we have that out of the way, let’s get down to the reason of this post as its pretty exciting news for not only Iby and his company, but also for the new as well as the huge reapeat in customer business that use his services week in week out.

When you take a wheel into Speedwells to get refinished, everything apart from the stripping of the old original paint is done in house, the diamond cutting was also a process that was outsourced, but in the run up to the festive period December 2019 that all changed with the install of a brand new diamond cutting machine.

Speedwells has expanded nicely over the last 10 years of business so adding the final piece of the jigsaw installing an in-house diamond cutting machine was a no brainer, it has been on the cards for a long time, but Iby was merely waiting for the right time as well as it making financial sense, with his aim for the start of 2020 to be completely self-contained, and with the powder coat paint line being a work of art, the diamond cutting has only improved on the high quality setup, with the Speedwells quality being better maintained, especially when you don’t have the need to outsource a service.

We are excited to see this part of the business grow for him as it’s a service we use a lot, and the quality of work that is coming out of the Speedwells HQ over the last few years is mind blowing, this is merely an enhancement on the current set up, he may well have competition but his work ethic and standards are the benchmark, he is definitely leading his field, everyone else is just playing … don’t believe us, hit him up and tell him VAD sent you, ...you will not be disappointed.
