Its been a while since our last post as things have been a little hectic at our HQ, with us working on so much in the we thought it was time to share whats been happening over the last few months.

We recently supplied one of our aero packs to a client in Massachusetts in the USA and its a project we wanted to share with the world as this build is really exciting, especially with all the people he has onboard, this is going to be one crazy Porsche build, the base car would be enough for most people, the thought of cutting it up to some people is sacrilege, but not Chris Fren, this is a guy that knows exactly what he wants and that is to make the best, better, so when he decided to build his dream Porsche GT3R street car he got in touch with one of the only places in the world that could make that happen, VAD.


Now this is where the fun begins as our kit is manufactured to fit the Porsche 991.1, but Chris wanted the 991.2, chassis, as Chris said the 991.2 is better in every way that the 991.1 especially mechanically and it has everything he wants in a Porsche, so as we already know Chris wants the best, so a Lizard Green 991.2 GT3RS was purchased, and sent off to Addictive Autosport, a team that know how to build a car, with Alex the man entrusted to tackle the build. with the first week being strip down, the last couple of weeks have been full fabrication mode with Alex ringing his full skill set to this build, as a brand you always think about who will be building the car, will they be build to the same quality, they have answered all of those questions, this team are exceptional and its easy to see why Chris chose Addictive Autosport to construct his dream Porsche.


To say Chris is installing the best of everything is an understatement, the suspension is from our own back yard in the form of Nitron Suspension, We worked with Nitron on our 997 R13 GT3R V8 Street, so we know all about the quality, whilst the beautiful exhaust system has been crafted by the geniuses’ that are Opus Innovations, with the bespoke forged 1 of 1 wheel design manufactured by the super talented Machfive Motors, we will discuss the exhaust and wheels in our next blog of this build, for now enjoy looking at one of the finest Porsche 991.2 GT3RS being turned in to a GT3R Evo street.

We are pleased to announce that our Porsche 997 GT3 R13 LS7 V8 is now officially complete, built by the extremely talented duo at LSX-Performance Kyle and Ashley, this is one Porsche that you will want sitting on your drive way, so let’s look at what makes this 997 so special.

 

It started life as a very sick 997 C4S and as with most of the 991.1 3.8 engines this one also had the very famous piston slap and not even 100k on the clock, which was the main reason for buying this particular car as we had discussed with kyle 18 month previously that this build would wear our forged 3 piece wheels, along with our R13 GT3R wide aero kit and he would build one of his very special bespoke LS7 V8 engines with this one pumping out 680 HP on its highly tuned AWD chassis.

On this build we worked with Nitron Suspension fitting at set of the NTR R1, that work in tandem by the GT3RR manufactured adjustable arms, that position the wheels to perfection with all the caster and camber adjustable, the set up will need to fine tuning over the coming weeks, although we do like the Nitron set up, all builds moving forward we will be working with our long term partners Bilstein who will build us a system specifically built for our application.

 

The car needs a bit of fine tuning and the air intake system that GT3RR have developed now needs some miles and we have developed a new engine cover and rear wing assembly where the intake filters reside, the engine also needs its final map, then its just a case of getting this beauty out and about for people to see up close and personal.


We will be building this platform as a drive in drive out turn key conversion with everything done in-house with GT3RR and BCFAB at our new base in Market Drayton Shropshire, we have base models in stock ready to convert, so they are at the stage of choosing your engine specification along with body colour, so get in touch with us for further information.


 

We have been wanting to put this post together for a while, we have written then re-written so many times, it’s been frustrating one for us as a company as we speak from experience when it comes to handing over lots of cash on a dream car build, only to find out what you have paid for is complete and utter garbage and you have to start again spending more to rectify the bad workmanship and crud work, so let’s get into it.


There are V8 conversions carried out every day in the UK by quite a few so call “Specialist” a couple are the “self-confessed” best in the business, when in reality there are only a handful of companies that you could trust in the UK , but only one that we would hand over our hard earned cash to, our choice being LSX performance in Market Drayton, we personally wouldn’t go anywhere else, simply put you get what you pay for and these guys know their craft, everything is done in-house from the engine builds, V8 installs, electrics and full exhaust systems, the skill set is next level and these are the skills that you have to pay especially when you consider the prices these builds cost and what is being charged for appalling work elsewhere, if its cheap there are usually reasons why.

On our visits to our conversion partners LSX Performance over the last few months we have seen first-hand all of the work they are having to correct from other business from around the UK, companies that are charging big money for this work, we have seen terrible wiring, exhaust botch up badly designed gearbox and engine mounts, they have one very well-known LS Powered Mazda RX7 in that has had an engine bay fire and just looking at the wiring we can see why.

"This is terrible work" Mild steel mixed with stainless, different manufacturers back boxes for the exhaust, different headers, terrible welding, all this from a well known UK V8 engine installer and professional builder ... allegedly


Kyle and Ashley from LSX Performance are just finishing up their 680hp V8 LS7 Powered Porsche 997 C4S GT3R kitted beauty and its an absolute work of art and this is what we mean by levels, all built in-house, from GT3R kit installation to V8 engine installation, bespoke exhaust, custom adjustable arms, all wiring and ECU installed, it’s such a tidy install to OEM quality standards and this is what sets them apart from anyone else we have worked with and we are happy to call these guys our conversion partners.

It’s worth doing your due diligence before you hand your hard earned cash, installing a V8 is not cheap and if its screams cheap it means someone’s cutting corners, look at previous work and talk to the people in the know, quality is everything but safety is paramount.
